KROA Election fall 2025 - available positions

Welcome to the spring elections at Kroa!

Do you have a great idea, a desire to make a difference, an interest in building networks, or are you eager to share your expertise with us - or are you simply curious about what it means to take on a role at Kroa?

On February 12th, we open the doors at 6:30 PM, and you have the opportunity to participate in the election, which starts promptly at 7:00 PM. To vote in the election, you must have a valid student ID.

Booking manager

The booking manager is the person on the board who contacts management and books artists for concerts at Kroa in Bø, both large and small. In addition, the booking manager creates contracts, budgets, and negotiates agreements that are beneficial for both Kroa and the artists. You get to connect with various players in the industry, and as the booking manager, you gain valuable experience for your professional life.

Marketing manager

Kroa has two Marketing Managers responsible for all marketing aspects, from social media and artist promotion to liaising with local media. A significant part of the role involves producing and designing posters and other graphic materials, making it ideal for those seeking practical marketing experience.

The social media club

Do you enjoy TikTok and Instagram? Do you like seeing your follower count go up, or do you feel like you know everything about trends? Then the SoMe group might be for you! They create fun content for Kroa’s social media accounts. Join the team!

Gamecrib (spillkribb)

Gamecrib is a club for those who like to crush people in Smash, work together to solve a mystery in board games, play chess, challenge yourself on Guitar hero, win a UNO tournament, feel the nostalgia of playing Buzz, and much more, Spillkribb also arrange LAN parties 2 times a year, and has tournaments from time to time with cool prizes. Technical crew

The technical crew works on a variety of tasks, and there’s always something new and exciting happening! At concerts, they are the rigging crew before and after the gig, help set up the stage for visiting bands and artists, and serve as stagehands and stage security during shows. They also manage sound and/or lighting at various events, including concerts without technicians, theme parties, and other fun events. You will receive training, and no prior knowledge is required!

Radio

The Radio Club creates podcasts where they talk about everything and nothing, relevant topics and complete nonsense. Do you like to have fun and laugh together? Do you love to chat and want a platform where you can express your opinions? Then the radio club is for you!

Viko

Viko is the students' own festival! It is by and for students, and takes place in February. They have featured some of the largest artists in Norway! There is also an annual VIKO revue, along with many other exciting events that YOU, as a board member of VIKO, get to decide on. As the volunteer coordinator, you are responsible for recruiting, training, and following up with volunteers who help make VIKO in Bø happen. Additionally, the role acts as HR for the board, ensuring that everyone is well taken care of.

Photography club

Photo is the group for you if you have an interest in photography and can — or want to learn how to — capture the atmosphere at concerts and events. The photo group ensures that pictures are taken of everything happening at Kroa, and the photos can be used on Kroa’s channels.

Kultores pub og café

Do you want to help create joy in Kroa's coziest group? As a board member of Kultores, you will help run Kroa's Café and Pub. You will work both administratively and practically in a team with dedicated students. The board works with the café on Tuesdays and the pub on Thursdays, but they want both to be equally prioritized. Therefore, they encourage you to apply for the board position you are most interested in. If you sign up for the pub, you can still get involved with the café too!

Kroa excursion

Kroa excursion is a group for students where we go on trips and hikes together, often on Sundays. So far we have organized several mountain trips and ski trips, but now hope with extra support from SSN to be able to experience and do even more. One thing we value extra highly is good food on our trips That is why we tend to cook or take shared food with us that we can enjoy on trips together.

Kultores Jam

Do you play an instrument but miss having someone to play with? Then Kultores Jam is the group for you. In this group, you can join weekly jam sessions, get to know other music enthusiasts, and perform live for audiences at events at Kroa.

KNS (kultores’headbanging company) was started in 2023 with a focus on rock and metal. They are an enthusiastic group passionate about the rock and metal scene in Bø and the surrounding area, and they work to bring this passion to Kroa. KNS organizes concerts, pub nights, quizzes, and much more.

Open mic

Open mic night is one of the most popular events at Kroa. Here, anyone has the chance to take the audience by storm with whatever it may be. The microphone is set up, the lights are set, and whether you want to tell a joke, sing a song, have a drinking competition or play the guitar, everything is arranged for you! Do you want to be one of the facilitators to put the performers in a better light? Sign up for open mic!

Kroa Creative is the group that does all the decorations for events at Kroa. They ensure the atmosphere is set with creative and unique decorations. Kroa provides the equipment and materials, giving you the freedom to explore and realize your ideas. It's also possible to organize your own events with various creative activities. If you have a passion for creative expression, Kroa Creative is the group for you!

Dj club

Are you good at setting the mood? Are you curious about how a mixing board works? Can you put together a playlist? The DJ committee is for you if you have a passion for music and want to be a part of creating fun nights at Kroa, both with and without a theme!

What is Jippi? 

Jippi provides discounted tickets to events, exclusive entry to major events to skip queues, and friendlier prices at the bar and café.

What is it like to volunteer? 

Volunteering involves swapping an occasional evening for fun, learning new things, enjoying concerts, making new acquaintances, and contributing to the student community. Additionally, volunteers experience unique events they might otherwise miss, all without any cost.

Do you get anything for volunteering? 

While there is no monetary compensation, volunteering twice a month earns "Jippi" benefits for the following month. Volunteers can also receive certificates for their work, which can be advantageous after completing studies in Bø. Furthermore, there are exclusive parties and internal events for volunteers, fostering friendships across USN studies.
