Over the course of 35 years on the road, Hellbillies have been steady contributor of songs to the Norwegian musical heritage. With 18 album releases, a long line of classics, and several thousand concerts performed all across the country, the band has remained at the very forefront of Norwegian music.

Hellbillies have been honored and respected for their ability to blend American and Norwegian musical traditions, while still maintaining their own distinct identity. The lyrics of one of the band´s founders, Arne Moslåtten, have played a particularly significant role. With originality and high literary quality, combined with the music of Aslag Haugen and Lars Haavard Haugen, they have become style-setters and an important part of Norwegian cultural life. This has made Hellbillies a role model for many artists in their genre, with new generations continually discovering the band´s song catalog.
